Nursing Education
Welcome to the Department of Nursing Education at Shepherd University. As 2016 begins, we are looking to celebrate our Twenty-fifth Anniversary of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and our first year of our Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). Our patient centered BSN curriculum is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skill, and understanding necessary to practice in all areas of professional nursing. In addition, our RN to BSN is taught as a hybrid seated cohort. The BSN to DNP and the MSN to DNP curricula are designed to produce leaders in administration and education, and Family Nurse Practitioners (FNP) who embrace health care reform and are advocates for vulnerable populations. We would be thrilled to have you visit as we celebrate new achievements and opportunities.
We invite you to visit our 37,000 gross square foot, two-story building which houses specialized nursing classrooms, 120-seat lecture hall, five simulation labs (acute care, critical care, mother-child, pediatrics and independent living), office space, conference rooms, student study center, computer lab, and general purpose classrooms. This facility was designed to provide students with the modern tools to meet success for nursing education today.
Take some time to read through our nursing curriculum. If you have any questions please call our office Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at 304-876-5341.
