Unofficial FIRST Lego League Contest at ShepRobo Fest only involves the robot missions
(no research presentation).
First
Lego League (FLL) is a result of an exciting alliance between FIRST and
the LEGO Company. Guided by adult mentors and their own imaginations,
FLL students solve real-world engineering challenges, develop important
life skills, and learn to make positive contributions to society. FLL
provides students age 9-14 with an opportunity to challenge their math
and science skills in an internationally recognized competitive
environment.
FLL combines a hands-on, interactive robotics program with a sports-like atmosphere. Teams of up to 10 players focus on team building, problem solving, creativity, and analytical thinking to develop a well thought out solution to a problem currently facing the world - the Challenge.

The mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
The
FLL Core Values are the cornerstones of the FLL program. They are among
the fundamental elements that distinguish FLL from other programs of
its kind.
By embracing the Core Values, participants learn that friendly competition and mutual gain are not separate goals, and that helping one another is the foundation of teamwork.
We are a team.
We do the work to find solutions with guidance from our coaches and mentors.
We know our coaches and mentors don't have all the answers; we learn together.
We honor the spirit of friendly competition.
What we discover is more important than what we win.
We share our experiences with others.
We display Gracious Professionalism in everything we do.
We have fun.
