Summary Plan, develop and author Service Engineering technical publications in accordance with the Service Engineering Production Guide and global Service Engineering processes. Responsibilities • Produce Service Engineering documentation, which may include but is not limited to: o Operator’s Manuals o Service Manuals o Service Programmers o Installation Instructions • Build and maintain good working relationships with Service Engineering, Diagnostics Engineering, Technology, Training and any other departments necessary in order to procure and provide accurate information for the purposes of writing technical documentation • Create manuals in compliance with SEPG specifications • Provide status reports as required by supervisor/manager • Update technical documentation as required by ECN or other approved feedback sources • Proofread Service Engineering technical documentation as defined by supervisor/manager • Capture quality digital photographs for use as graphical reference • Work with technical illustrator to prepare both photographic and illustrated graphical references for technical documentation • Work with several software platforms (such as Aladdin, Frame Maker, Word, Acrobat Professional, CorelDraw, Photoshop and Illustrator) to create or modify text and images • Meet agreed deadlines • Meet agreed table of contents fulfillment targets • Perform additional tasks as defined by assigned role descriptions and as required by manager/supervisor, including but not limited to: o Service Manual Writer o Installation Instruction Writer o Service Programmer Writer o Operator’s Manual Writer • Working knowledge of the following specializations: o Phrase administration o Publishing of manuals o Translation export/import o Function Group Index o Installation Instructions o Service Programmes Required knowledge and experience • Applicants must be pursuing an Engineering or Communications degree at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship/co-op. • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0.
